first_imgWilmer Eye Institute within Johns Hopkins University, School ofMedicine invites applications for a full-time faculty positionin the Lions Low Vision Research and Rehabilitation Center.Applicants should have an OD or MD degree and have completed anaccredited residency and/or fellowship in Vision Rehabilitation, orhave a record of extensive clinical experience caring for lowvision patients of all ages.The position requires a commitment to clinical care, teaching andresearch. In addition to providing direct patient care, the facultymember will be involved in mentoring a fellow in VisionRehabilitation, ophthalmology resident clinical education,participation in grand rounds and community outreach. Mentorshipand dedicated time is provided to participate in research andeducational activities. The faculty member will be joining athriving group of doctors, therapists and researchers at the LionsVision Center. Applicants must be eligible for immediate licensurein Maryland.Clinical vision rehabilitation services are currently provided atJohns Hopkins Hospital in Downtown Baltimore, as well as two localsatellite locations: Green Spring Station and Bel Air. Thisposition receives referrals from ophthalmology sub-specialtydivisions staffed by the over 150 faculty members of Wilmer EyeInstitute, from community practice ophthalmologists andoptometrists throughout the United States, as well as internationalpatients seeking care at Johns Hopkins, one of the top hospitals inthe nation.
